I am needing to replace all my chains. What is the difference between (60 H Chain) and (60 Chain). I am looking at an American made chain. Is it best to buy 50' roll or what will work to replace? As much input as you can give would be appreciated. Also if the chain details says it is a (1 x 64 Pin) does that include the masterlink?

The "H" means that the chain has heavyweight sideplates and a higher tensile strength. Either one will work fine. As for the length, I always buy in 50 foot rolls. I typically only need half of that but the cost of a 50 foot roll isn't much more than three boxes of 10 foot chain.
I don't know about the masterlinks. You typically get one for every 10 feet of chain. Whoever you are ordering from should be able to clarify that and order the right number of master links that you need.

Yes, count the master link. Really, just count the rollers and it will take care of itself. To cut the chain you can by a chain break for the job but I always just use a grinder and a punch. I typically grind the pins down below the plate. Then pull the plate off and take the punch and tap the pins out the other side.Originally posted by TimZ View PostWhat I was asking about the masterlink was when counting pins on a 64 pin length does that include counting the pins on masterlink? Also what tool will I need to cut chain? Thanks for the info so far on the "H".
Most bearing supply houses will sell it in 50 ft rolls.Originally posted by Rusty-Gunn View PostWhere do you guys buy 50 foot rolls of chain?
