Fuel Spillage

I believe someone replaced the fuel cap and filler tube on my 80's 8x8 I/C. The fuel cap does not screw on but more or less pushes on. When the argo is on a side hill with the fuel cap on the down hill side gas will pour out of the cap vent...not good.

Any suggestions on what to use for a replacement fuel filler tube and cap? Any automotive parts interchangeable?
