  • Cool hoist

I have been waiting a long time to pick one of these up,and pulled the trigger right before our deer season openend. We pretty much live on venison, and use the argo to get the deer out of our swamp. Before the hoist,I would "heeve ho" the deer into the back of the argo, and then nurse a sore back for a few days.
After looking at some cheaply made hoists, I came across this hoist which has a 500lb rating, powder coated, heavy duty winch, and a cool bearing system that lets the hoist spin 360 with no effort. It comes in 3 pieces so it is easy to transport in the argo.It is really made for a pickup, and the bottom arm is long enough to clear the tailgate, but it doesn't need to be that long for the argo,as the load doesn't drop straight into it.Tossing around the idea of cutting it. compressed hoist.jpg

Cut it. If you decide later that you want to use it with a pickup (I assume this isn't a concern) you can find receiver tube to weld onto the stub you cut off ($12.99 here) to make an extension or you can buy already made extensions.

You can't fool me Doug. You don't have a swamp anymore.

Nice buck, you could probably stack those things 6 or 7 high in the HDI with that hoist.

      Keith.

Looks like they now have a smaller 300lb. hoist also. Mine is the larger one.I found them on ebay, and played the computer generated bidding game, and saved about $60.00.

                Hey Tim,
It's making ice right now, about an inch, but it's also supposed to rain this weekend,I'll keep you posted,I can't wait to stud the tracks, cut a hole in the ice,and see if we can get this thing in and out.I have some leftover sheet metal screws(hw8x1/22zt) that I am thinking of useing, just cuz I have them, but they might be to small. Just trying to penny pinch. Your thoughts?

                  Sounds simple enough Doug :-)

Maybe we can get a little winter ride with some of the others put together at the same time?
