conquest through the ice

Was out playing around on deep frozen mud hole swap when it breaks through. Now I run the supertrack with ice grousers every other cleat forward and back ward faceing .I was unable to get back up on top of the ice. tried forward backward finally got pissed and spooled out the winch which by the was is a harbor freight 5000 and a great deal for a winch than she came back up on top. my question anyone ever been able to get one back out of the water to up on top of the ice again.If so how you do it if i was on lake i been screwed.

Had to use the winch every time. I carry an axe and a 3 foot bar sharpened to a point on one end with a ring welded on the other end. Drive into the ice at an angle and hook to it with the winch cable.

ice ring like the idea.you tube did'nt try that but i just don't see how since tub hits but i will have to look .just sucks draggin winch line

All the ones I have ever seen do it do it in reverse. I don't think they have the hitch on. The water has to be deep enough to float the Argo so the nose can go down while the rear climbs out. None the less it is super important to bring enough gear to self recover

that may have been my killer i was deep enough to float but not enough to nose down

I carry a grappling anchor in case that ever should happen. Haven't had to use it yet.

That's a brilliant idea, I have folding anchor for my canoe that would work quite well for that purpose, will start carrying it in the Argo.
