Outboard motor

Headed to a boat show this weekend and need some advice. I plan to purchase an outboard for my Argo 580 6x6. Favoring a Minn Kota 70 or 80. Do I need the 36' shaft or the 42"? Is the corded foot peddle an advantage. Any advice is welcome.
