  • Chain ?

I have an avenger with rubber tracks. Just installed the Track Tuners. The chains are very tight on top and loose on the bottom, when traveling forward. When I back up, the chains are tight on bottom and loose on top. Is this normal?

Unless your front and rear tires are absolutly perfectly matched, you will still get some chain windeup, but not as much as if you didn't have the Tuners. Your center tires, with Tuners, are free to spin as they want, but you are still solidly connected between the front and rear tires. Not only are the front and rear tires solidly conected to each other with the chains, they are conected together with the track, so in one forward revolution of your tires, if the tire diameter is not "perfect", you will see some tension increase on the chain. If your front tire is slightly smaller, you see tension increase on the top of the chains. If the front tire is slightly larger, you will see tension increase on the bottom of the chains.
It's pretty impossible to get it "perfect", so you will always get some chain windeup. Sounds like yours is set up right (Tension on the top when traveling forward). If you had tension on the bottom (Chain Tensioners) when traveling forward, you would eat those tensioner blocks in no time.
Hope I got that right. (I confused the poop out of myself trying to explain it)

Thanks, makes perfect sense. Just needed some conformation.

Have you got a link for the Track Tuners? Never heard of them before.. Are they worth the investment?
        Thanx...
