Hey everyone looking for some of you Argo lovers great wisdom. I will start by telling you I have been dealing with amphids my entire life. I now have my grandfathers hustler 950 that I would never part with and A 2009 max2 I bought A few years back that I love. But I'm one of those guys who is always looking for something new. So I have decided I would like to try out a 8x8. I have about $10000 saved up for a rebuild project and was looking for some advise on what would you be looking for as far as year, make, and condition? Also if I had to replace all bearings and chains what should I hold back to accomplish not going over my budget?

I think for $10,000 you can get an 8x8 that doesn't need anything. I would go for something like this: http://www.6x6world.com/forums/aatvs...o-avenger.html depending on what kind of options you are looking for and maybe sell the items you don't need/want. If you are just set on rebuilding something for fun or customizing an 8x8 to your liking, I would set aside $1500 or so to cover high quality chain and bearings for the 8x8. You can pick those parts up for less money but that would ensure you were covered.

Can u even get to Mich. from Miss.
I have never had it swimming, so I cant say how fast it is.
The 05's came with a 25hp Kohler liquid cooled motor.
I think there are roads from Miss to Mich......and I think some may even be paved

A conquest from a desert state. There's a heck of deal on a 2005 Avenger on here somewhere sporting a plow and rubber tracks - you'll probably have to search it out to find it.
For the open differential type transmission I think I prefer the stick steering. For the admiral transmission the handlebar makes sense. I'm used to the sticks so that may make my answer biased.
A little side note: I just did a quick craigslist check for my area and found a '97 conquest for $5500.
<response from my wife> "NOOOOOO!!!" [yes, the smilie is hers]
<the email I sent her that got me that response> [link to ad] It's yellow. I want it.
I live in the city. We have very little space for parking at my house because "I want it."
I'll go check to see if the link is in the craigslist forum and post it if I don't see it.

I think Argo went to the "T"bar so beginners would feel more comfortable, and they could sell more units.

The avenger 2004 came with the handle bar. I was driving sticks bar before ( response and Max). For myself I like the handle bar better since I have bad shoulders and I don't have to have my 2 hands on the sticks all the time. Being able to drive with just one hand is great for me.Jack
