6x6 readers! I am looking for suggestions for the ideal set up for an outboard motor for an AATVs. I have an Argo 6x6 and would like to hear about the equipment that has worked for you. I am looking at a Minn Kota Traxxis 55. Is this a good choice? Need info about the shaft length, mounting bracket and the best way to stow the motor when not needed. Also the Traxxis has the ability to change the angle of the control handle and add length. Is that a needed feature? Thanks for any response.

If you will use the search, this topic has been discussed quite a bit and you should be able to find some of the answers you are looking for.

I put a minn kota 55 endura C2 on my MAX when I got it. I used a 42" shaft, but my machine is much different than yours. What I can tell you thats helpful is that 55 ft lbs seems to be plenty of power to move my Max IV around the pond, I have not used it in the river yet but I dont anticipate any troubles it seemed plenty strong.. Lots better than traveling by tire in the water, and silent.
