Hey Rusty Gunn, Yes, I just cut PVC pipe(RD"S idea actually) to length, then routered the ends to get rid of the sharpness, then I split them lengthwise. Then I cleaned up the burrs on the long cut, fitted around the axle, then cemented them together. One thing that I was planning on doing, was to wrap electrical tape around them for added protection.
Thanks for the PVC tip Doc,seems to be the best answer so far, besides,it would have cost 10 times more with radiator hose.

I'm glad that you mentioned splitting the PVC pipes and then cementing them back together again, because this is what I was thinking too. I just didn't know if the spilt PVC pipes when glued back together would hold up over time. I also didn't want to pull the front and rear axles just to attach the PVC pipes.

Hey mudbug, Mine are holding up well so far, but it would be better to wrap the PVC in electrical tape for added protection, and help keep them together. ( Saw a cool pic of you and Tim on the argos when I was down in IA.)

How do you ciment them, by heating them together?

First, PVC cleaner, then PVC cement, the same way you would glue PVC drain pipe together.

adairargosales - Home 4000lb powerline pro longspool winch. It just holds 100' of synthetic cable. If I remember correctly, this winch has the same guts as the warn winch, just ain't paying for the name.Also,Std. spool 4500lbs.

I like the idea of having 100' on your spool to start with

I have tried to find info on the powerline winch and can't? Why is this? Anyone know anything about these winches?

I will see if Tim can't chime in hear, but this might be made just for adair, anyway, I have had one of these on my last unit, and also on my new one,and they are awesome. Very quiet, large knob on the end to freespool or engage, and have worked flawlessly so far. The coolest thing about this winch is it has a pics of an 8x8 argo for the freespool or engage knob, not a stinkin...........cough, cough, .........4 wheeler. Tim thought of everything.

Several years back we were having several issues with the factory specified super winches, so we went out and sourced what we thought was a better winch with a much better warranty...the more we used this winch the more we liked it but as usual we found details we thought could be improved...so we made a commitment to have large quantities built for us and to our unique specifications and began to private label the brand of winches "power line" and "power line pro". ...we used to have to build a custom adapter plate to mount a 4bolt winch to the factory style 2bolt super winch pattern...about 2 years later the factory begin making it very easy on us by using a nearly identical private branded "warn" winch so now nearly all parts are identical with the factory setup, but the warranty on the powerline winch is 2 years as apposed to 6 months or a year...a few of the most noticeable improvements are synthetic gear lube, improved waterproofing of the motor and drive for our applications, stainless steel hardware, lower amperage and higher effeciancy drives, correct length cables and proper sized cable ends, better paint finish, and much more durable decals... We also started to see an interest in a very long cable option so we decided that we could improve on the normal 45 ft reach of most winches by about double so we took a wide spool version of our 4,000lbs winch with the 65' steel cable and we wound up a 100' of red colored amsteel synthetic on it and it just fits...we also make a custom adapter plate to be used with our wide spool winches and factory type fog lights, which relocates the fog lamps outward from center far enough to fit the bigger winch in between them...some guys also like the option of the bigger LED lights mounted in this new location... This year you will start to notice that the new XTI is now offering a nearly identical version of our wide spool winch and are using the standard 65' of 5/16" steel cable...

                            Hope this helps

Foxvalley, do you know if the rear frame extension is available as an add-on kit? My 2012 has brackets at the rear where the frame extension is attached on yours...I had wondered what they were for?! Does it attach to the body anywhere, or just bolt onto the rear of the frame and fit up underneath the bumper?
