  • 8X8 Rebuild

    Hello all. New member here.

My father in law has passed down this argo for me. I'm starting a rebuild on it.
From what I know it's an early 80's 8x8, it had a motor in it last year, now it's gone. I'm doing the Sprint swap. Already have a donor engine.
I have lots of work a head of me. There is some tub repair and frame repair. The argo was stuck in the snow last year so the in law tried to pull it out with his truck. Tore out the rear hitch and ripped the tub. So I have to remove the frame and such.
What is the easiest way to remove the frame?
    I'll start there
    thanks in advance

To remove the frame, start by removing the chain and then pulling out the transmission, axles, etc. I'm not sure on the older Argos if you can pull the frame out without splitting the tub but it would be worth a try. If it won't come out the back of the machine due to the plastic tub section behind the driver's seat then you may have to split the upper tub from the lower one.
