Hi!!! I am new to the world of AATV's.. we are hog hunters in south Arkansas and use UTV's to get to the dogs. A couple of my buddies have been using Argo 6x6's.. we cant even stay close to them in the woods on our utv's. We have found a 2005 Response that has only 100 hrs on it and it supposed to look like new for $6000. Is this a good price?? You dont see many Argos in our area. I tried calling 3 of the closest dealers and not one was open. I searched this model on the web and found out it comes with the 22" tires... does this hurt the performance of this machine?? The 6x6's we hunt with have the 26" tires on them. Will the 8x8 go in the woods like 6x6's?? What are the advantages of a 8x8 vs a 6x6?? I know this is alot of questions. Thanks for the help. Robbie

Price wise depends on year and accessories.
The biggest disadvantage is also the advantage as to the 6x6, the 8x8 is 2 feet longer and the pivot point is back a bit from the 6x6. If you've never driven either one it will be easy to figure out after the first ten trees you whack you'll learn the pivot point and rear clearance as well as not to do that, 6x6's are more nimble but you can't carry as much cargo or passengers in the rear.
The tires will do fine unless you have alot of large rocky or rutted terrain, you can squeeze the Argo 24's on for more clearance there but with too much air pressure they will rub each other on axles one and two at higher speeds.sigpic
My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
Joe Camel never does that.
Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

Rob (?) you don't know how lucky you are over there buddy, they charge £300 per day / night over here for hog shooting, then charge the going rate on top for the meat !! On one hand we have the farmers moaning about hogs tearing up crops and demanding compensation the they want to charge shooters to get rid of them !!!!!
One question though, over here we bait them then shoot them on sight, why do you track them and live capture ?
Sorry to hijack your thread.

Hi Jim, They welcome you with open arms as well over here, just to take your money off you. I absolutely refuse to pay for the privilege of shooting a pest species. It's getting the same with deer now, down south they're causing a multitude of car accidents yet the farmers still want to charge a fortune to shoot them !!
Had a farmer once who suggested I pay him for shooting rats on his farm !! I suggested a few things but he didn't take me up on the offer
One of the problems over here though is you need a written permission on suitable ground to get a larger calibre, the farmers know this and try to screw money out of you just for permission. Although I have an "open" certificate for .22 (small vermin) unless I get a suitable permission there's no chance of getting .243 or similar on my ticket.
