  • Go big or go home? If you can't run with the big dawgs stay on the trailer...

I have a 1999 Bigfoot 18 hp Briggs. The motor is just about gone. Blowing oil were ever it can. I'd rather buy a new motor than tear it apart and rebuild it. Was wondering how big a motor will fit in the bigfoot without any major modifications. Thanks Todd

    what to do????????

Just my 2 cents,if u rebuild her(18 B&S) you can make her faster, stronger & more powerful. but dont try to rebuild stock just get a short block that has a 2 year warnty. It cost the same !!!

A 23 vanguard would be the easiest. Engine mounts, clutch would work. The heads are slightly different so the exhaust won't bolt up. Imagine a muffler shop could cut and move the header pipes.. Richard Clark supposedly has a muffler for this.. @ $300

Some of the new vanguards have a 20-50 amp charging system option.
