I have a clicking sound in my right front hub on my argo 8x8. It didn't make that noise when the chains weren't on but after I installed my new chains there is a click every now and then. This machine has sat for a few years. Could this be a bearing or maybe just some gunk that needs to be worked out. The bearing seems tight as all the others are so I'm a bit puzzled. I really don't want to take the axle off especially that one since it is the hardest to get at. So what are my options.

Remove the chain and check for any binding links, if all free check teeth on sprocket for chips or sharpness, also clean between the sprockets and the outside of sprockets for gunk build up.sigpic
My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
Joe Camel never does that.

After I upgraded my magnum 8 to the 11 tooth idler I had to put in a half link in the front chains due to the excessive slack. The conquest I just picked up had a loud clicking sound coming from both front hubs when I turned. I checked the chains installed by the previous owner and found them to be very loose. These are new tsubaki chains. I ended putting a half link in these chains also, eliminating the noise. The manual does not call for half links according to the dealer. I am not sure why both machines required half links, but it seemed to remedie my noise, clicking issue and leaves the front chains at the perfect tension.
