  • Avenger hand grips are thick and hard... any good replacement grips you like?

The grips that came with my Avenger are to thick/large for my small hands (I'm 5-3) and are quite hard. After a five hour drive on the tundra today my hands just but had enough.
I'd like to replace them with ones that are slimmer, but soft.
    Any suggestions?

I don't know that you will get a lot of responses on your question because I haven't seen a whole lot of grips that have been changed. I'm sure there are a handful of members that have and maybe they will chime in later. In the meantime, let me share my recent experience. I am building an Avenger for my wife with custom handlebars and I had to purchase grips for it. I wanted them to be thin enough to fit her smaller hands and still comfortable. When I was researching which grips would be best, I found a search on Amazon.com helped me a lot. I would search for grips and then sort them by user rating and then read what people had written about the grips. While the reviews are from people with quads or bikes, I still found them helpful as they addressed the same issues that we are concerned with. I finally purchased Rockstar grips similar to these: Pro Taper Rockstar Hand Grips Fits Dirt Bikes CR CRF KX RM RMZ YZ | eBay

I haven't finished building the Avenger yet so I don't know how they will work but I wanted to at least mention how I came to my decision as the Amazon reviews at least kept me from buying a set of grips that were no good.

Hmmmm... I think my grips are from a bmx bike. Measure your tubing diameter and go from there. You may need to take the throttle off and stuff it into hot water to get the adhesive to come off of that grip I would imagin (the. Again it IS HOT ENOGH maybe you can get it to release in the heat of the day)

        Mike and spookum....
I will do a bit of research and buy what I think I'd like. BMX ones did cross my mind, but I figured I better check first. Thanks for the advice, I do appreciate it.

I put these to my Argo.

I use mainly Argo at winter so these was right choice to my use. Those are thinner than orginals but not like mx-grips.

Thank you Marko. I don't use mine in the winter.

Check your local ( if you have one ) bike, motorcycle and/or sled shop, the grips should all fit the same bore so real time comfort tests are your best bet. You will have to heat the new grip to get on the throttle side.
