Briggs & Stratton 16 or 18

I am rebuilding a 93 Vanguard. When I pulled the engine the air cleaner cover says 16, but the shroud with the pull cord says 18. Is there another way of telling if it is a 16 or a 18?

Get the numbers off the engine and you can look online and see which it is.

Forgot to say, that the engine numbers are on the pull cord shroud.
