  • something you may want to check out and an easier oil change

I am not sure which ARGO models have this feature, but the plastic shroud that cools the brake rotors got loose on the last trip and slipped back against the oil filter. It melted into the shape of the filter, but not through. I had smelled something odd but didn't see it until I did my service. Needed to tighten the 2 mounting bolts with a 10mm socket. Not easy to find them (of course). You may want to check yours. Also, I got real tired of changing the oil with the "bag trick" or sucking it out with a vacuum, so I added these fittings to the drain about 2 years ago. One brass male/female 90 (only fitting that would fit), one short nipple (steel) and a ball valve (with a plug in it). Has held up well and makes changing the oil a snap. I still use a 1 gallon baggie to catch it, but I can see what's happening. So no more mess and less fuss.

Which drain did you put it on, the one on the front of the engine or the back? I was thinking about doing that to mine. I know on some small engines they do a drain extension and it makes it real easy to change the oil.
