Belt tension help please

I've heard some people like the belt fairly tight between the drive and driven clutch. I can see how this would allow the clutch to engage fairly quickly but if I do that on my Argo, I have to shut the engine off to shift. What am I missing here?

You've got it too tight. Loosen it up some. You want it as tight as you can get it without having the clutch engage at idle.

Make sure your idle isn't set too high.
