  • How much gas do I need?

I have a 2013 750 HDI. One area that I like to go with the 4 Wheeler is 100 mi round trip not to mention running around for a week. This will be my first trip with my argo of any distance. The terrain is hilly with a little Swamp. I am not pulling a trailer. How much gas do you plan for per hour or per mile? I have one 4 gal flat pack so far. I'm starting to think I'll need a gas trailer. :-)

It depends on what engine you have and how heavy you are on the throttle. I bet rockdoctor would be able to give you a pretty accurate estimate.
l like to buy stuff and no I don't do payments!

      Will you be running tracks?

No tracks. I'm told I'll be lucky to average 5mph, therfore if will be 10hrs in and 10+hrs out.

We travel about this distance on the beach with out Avenger700. The beach is mostly loose gravel mixed with sand and thee occasional mud. Tundra thumping is also requied whenthe tides are too high (wipes
out the beach). We use about twelve gallons, sometimes more depending how much stuff we do as we go. More throttle burns more. I do take twelve gallons each time, using six for the return.

Your HDI has a 31hp EFI Kohler in it.
My Bigfoot has a 40HP Kohler, and I can burn about a gallon an hour......But I am on the throttle all the time. Higher RPMs= more fuel used.
I would guess you would burn just over half a gallon an hour. But that is just a guess.

The Argo will use more fuel than any MAX. Ive run with both vehicles with the same engines and the Argo will use 1/3 more fuel per hr. the Hdi with the admiral transmission will be a bit better. I would count on a full tank of fuel both ways. Have fun and be safe

I would guess 4 miles per gallon, but I'm running a 27hp. I can run into and out of my cabin 2 times in a full Conquest tank, it's about 10 miles each way. It's really hard to say without knowing how much trail and how much swamp you're traveling through.
Remember though, you can never really have too much fuel........ Unless you're on fire, lol.

I'm seeing about 5.5 miles per US gallon on a new 2013 750 HDI with little extra weight. Trip conditions vary over good, difficult and mucky trails with some swimming thrown in to clean the tires and wheels.
