floating sprocket s

Ok boys what s the latest on sprockets I have been letting the fronts sprocket s and the idler sprockets float. I have not been using the set screws on those 2 spots but all other sprockets aligned and set screw tighten to hold in place. Has anything changed from everyones experiences?? It s on 96 conquest

Front axle sprockets float, new idler shafts have a snap ring on one side of drive sprockets. Original didn't have any snap rings.
