easiest way to install the tracks?

I spent waaaay too much time, sweat and busted knuckled trying to get my tracks on last time. I bascially had to remove 2 of the tires and struggle stuffing all 3 of the tires in to the track (while keeping the track all connected), and then try to get the tires back on the axles while they were in the track. My track does not have a master link. Has anyone ever modified their tracks so there is a master link to you don't have to remove the tires?

What kind of tracks do you have. I do the same as you described on my 8x8 with the air out of the front and rear tires while the machine is sitting on milk crates. it is good to have a master link in the track in case you throw a track on the trail. I have argo supertracks.

I don't know the model of tracks, but they are Argo brand. I did actaully throw the track while spinning circles in the woods (ripping up dirt to make a plot). Hence the question haha.

also, if you have a master link, why not use that to install them?

Do you have plastic tracks? if so you won't have a master link you can just remove one track pin and drive over the track letting it come back over the top of the wheels and maybe tub a little to connect them in front.

I have pretty good luck getting standard plastic tracks on my response by driving onto the tracks laid out on the ground, airing down my front and back tires to nearly nothing, pulling the track up and over the tires then using ratchet straps and the locking c-clamp vise-grips to pull the segments together. Sometimes I have to drive the pin in to help make up the final centimeters, as it cinches the segments together the further along it goes through (probably this will backfire on me some day with a bent pin). Also checking the sag on the tracks when jacked up (and adjusting segments accordingly) is worth doing. I was running with a half track too much... but the gold half segment used to be my guide... now I'll have to search for the sweetest, unrusty setscrew to get them off! Should have marked it with some paint or something.
