In the other forum I had posted that I thought it was a Tecumseh machine, but after looking at the pictures again I see one piece (welded sprockets) axles and a flat hood so it probably had a Kohler 399 in it. Still very early poly body so may be as early as 74. The very early Tecumseh machines had a wire mesh box covering the tec. ohv cut into the hood and later had a molded hood over the ohv.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
Joe Camel never does that.
Ok, i'm good with that. i guess my only concern is the transmission as far as if it was used for a few years or if there was different versions? i understand that there was different gear ratios. is there still parts available should there be a problem. i'm big into the briggs vanuards that i run in the pullers so thats most likely the way i'll go. i also have a 20hp honda that may be a good choice.
Thanks for the replies, i'm looking forward to getting started.
