I have a 2010 avenger EFI argo after a little while operating the argo the fuel pump makes a buzzing noise that can be heard while driving. the fuel pump should be quiet. Anyone have any ideals about this issue thanks.

I have noticed the ones with a pluged tank strainer make more noise. They all have drive ability issues. If it is running fine after about an hour of operation I don't think the strainer is pluged. The noise I'm hearing is probably pump cavitation. To clean the strainer drill out the ti it's on seat storage compartment and lift out. The drop tube with strainer just pull out. When reinstalling put grommet part way on the tube with some lube(wd40) is good. Press grommet the into tank then seat the tube. The high pressure pumps should be quiet unless they are failing. That age of Argo did have some issues with the pump. Hope you don't need one they arnt cheep. -
Had the same problem, but the noise only goes when the fuel level is below half. I guess the sounds it produces is due to pump cavitation and lack of fuel lubrication.Comment
