    argo and dougs buck.jpg compressed.jpg

I know there are a lot of folks out there using your argo for hunting purposes, and I just wanted to revisit the pro hoist setup that I use for getting my deer out of my swamp.
So far, this is the best hoist I have found, and works great for deer sized critters,or moose and elk qtrs. It is rated for 600lbs. but after trying to hoist a cow elk, guts and all,and failing,I would not recommend more than 300lbs.
I cut 15" off the reciever part,as the hoist is made to accomodate a pickup truck with the tailgate down, and the extra length wasn't needed for the argo.
With the argo, and hoist, our "dragging" or "heave ho into the argo" are a thing of the past, and makes light work out of getting em out.
You can bid on the hoists on ebay, and save about $60.00, they go about $150.00 on ebay if you can find them. Or $225.00 at prohoist.com.
I have to go and fry up some tenderloin now, good bye.

Hard to tell from the pic, is the post setting on the ground stabilized by the hitch?
      sigpic

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
      Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

Here are a couple pics that show the telescoping foot to stabilize the post, also you will see how the top part of the post removes from the bottom, and spins 360 degrees via a bearing system.
The only issue is that there is slop at the reciever which makes the post tip off of plumb when you spin with a load. The top part of the post also telescopes to raise the load high enough to drop into argo.
