  • Rivets Versus Bolts

    Hey Guys,
Any reason when assembling the top and bottom halves of the tub you cannot use 1/4 inch bolts?? Gasket would not be sitting so good but any other concerns??
I am thinking stainless hardware with a caulking in between the halves.
    Comments??

I used bolts the only issue is even lock nuts or lock washers they vibrated lose after some time. I would go with rivets if had to do it over again Also to seal the two halves they sell a gasket for a truck cap worked out great on my rebuild I think i got it at one of the big box lumber stores..

I'm thinking about drilling and plastic versus an air ratchet with nylock nuts and the nuts are reusable. i would like to end up with a quickly removable top half for maintenance on inside chains, sprockets etc.
