  • Argo Conquest 2003 for $10,000 is it good?

Hello, I would like to know if this would be considered as a good price? Someone is selling an Argo 2003 Conquest 8X8 for $10,000. Negociable

In the add it is said that it have the windshield, the canvas cabin, the winch and heater kit, extension for passenger?? what ever that mean??. It has only 14 hours on the timer. I saw the pictures and it does look brand new.

I send an inquiry about the kind of engine it it.

I noticed on the Argo web site, that they no longer build the Conquest. Is the Conquest a good buy? Or should I wait and save my money to buy an Avenger?

    Thank you

I would look on N.A.D.A. Official Used Car Guide Company They have a section on ATV values there and they include Argo.

I would try to talk them down

Without any options the Web site Jeff posted says
      PRICING
      Low Retail Average Retail
      Base Price
      $4,850 $6,380
      TOTAL PRICE $4,850 $6,380

      Suggested List: $11,990

Used 2003 ARGO ATV ARGO 8X8 CONQUEST-37 prices, values, specs and options at NADAguides

I am not sure if that suggested list is what it was new in 2003 or what a dealer can get for it now?

      A brand new 2008 Frontier 8x8 is $14,595 base
Why do we waste tax money on bridges and roads when we can all just drive AATVs

If it was here, it would be a little high, although with only 14 hrs on it, you might as well call it NEW.
The last one I bought was a 2004, and got it for $8,000 in 2006.
The windshield was smashed, the canvas cabin was damaged, it has no heater kit, or extension for passengers (??). However it did come with Supertracks, and electrical problems.

I would say that you should be able to do a little better than $10,000.

PS, The Conquest is no Avenger, but I would not hesitate to buy anothr one. They are VERY good machines, and with tires upgraded to 24" Frontiers they are even better.

I think it sounded pretty good provided it has the options you want. If you have no use for the cabin, or other options then you can get cheaper. If it had the tracks for that price, then a real bargain.
Even though it has only 14 hours on it, time is an enemy as well so consider that in your decision. You can look at the average amount of hours put on an argo a year (my unofficial poll) is less than 50 hours. Therefore a 2003 should have about 250 hours on it, which is not much either in the grand scheme of things. If those 14 hours though were spent running it without proper lubrication and it's also been sitting idle for 2 years, then you should do a pretty good mechanical check on it.

Right now there is a 2002 Conquest on ebay with 58 hours selling for $9855. Looks like it has the winch, windshield, and camo body. That is a high price just like the '03 you refer to... but these Argo 8x8s are really bringing top dollar here lately. Your '03 with the canvas top is the better buy but these vehicles were actually cheaper at this time last year!
Make sure your vehicle really has 14 hours. The meter can be unplugged with just one wire so make sure it really looks brand new. The windshiled and top new cost is about $1600 and that heater kit will cost you up to $800 new. The heater is $400 and it takes eight hours to install... ouch! That's worth some money to already have it on the vehicle. The 'extension for passenger' might be the rear bench seat which is a really nice accessory, $400 new.
All Conquests have the 20hp Kawasaki engine. It's a good motor. Ebay just sold an '06 Avenger for $12000 and an '07 EFI for $14,500. The Conquest is a great machine, but go for the Avenger if possible. The bigger tires, engine, and better transmission makes it a beast of a machine.
            Hope that helps!

Had a 2003 conquest and loved it. Used it for 5 months went places i didn't think possible on a atv. Then i saw the 2007 Avenger, made a mistake and drove one, had to have one and it's great. Not to take anything away from the conquest it is a great vehicle. My machine had the rear seat for passenger and it worked out great, more comfort for those who ride with you. If you have children this is a good vehicle for family fun. Gave 8500 hundred for my conquest in 2006.

The passenger extension(??) rear seat for the Avenger is over $500.oo. Really hated to let the conquest go but you know how men are. "More Power"

A fellow wanted mine so i was able to sell it and get my Avenger. The new Avengers have had a few price increase since i bought mine but i think i would still do it again if having to make that choice today. I really enjoy this hoddy/sport and recommend it to all who are thinking of a 4-wheeler. We don't run as fast but i think we have a heck of lot more fun.
              Just my opinion.
