What kind/make of helmet cam do you have? Loved the terrain. I doesnt snow much here in N.C.

Found one on net for 89.99 its a Oregon scientific model # ATC2K. Don't know haw well the pic quality is. I takes 30 frames per minute. May be worth checking out.

That ATC2000 is not good enough for what you want. I have one. Makes a good kids cam, and is waterproof to 10ft or so!

The Samsung SC X300 L is a nice helmet cam . It comes with a 10 X zoom lens , an image stabilizer , and a recorder as well . Thats the one I,m buying for myself . .

Here is a good video on the Samsung SC X300 L

Right on Martin, Did you go with the Samsung SCX210L?
Mine has taken a little too much abuse, and has died on me. I just ordered a new SCX300L about an hour ago.

The SCX300L is the newer model than the SCX210L, but they are both outdated now. Samsung quite making both of them. Not sure if there is a model to replace them.

That looked good for the ATCK, esp recompressed on youtube! I like the little camera, the framerate seems to drop on high motion scenes that I shot, didn't notice it on yours. I've had it underwater, it's shock resistant too.

Helmet Camera Central and other sites review a lot of helmet cams, and some small forums. It's amazing what they're doing now with mpeg4 and memory cards. mpeg4 is down a notch in pic quality, but good hardware can help. I've had my ATC2K apart, (slide the guts out the back). It is mostly empty space inside! I mean other than the two aa batteries the circuit board and parts would almost fit in a bic lighter. The imager and encoder hardware makes a difference in quality and price in these mpeg4 cams.

                          This may sound cheesy but...

I have made a neck brace that will hold a digital camera similar to how a musician would hold a harmonica using a ¼-20 threaded rod .

The rod goes right into the base of the camera and I keep it from flipping around with a couple of hex nuts . It worked on my snowmobile and I will be able to make some videos soon now that the snow is melting. I am looking into a good helmet cam but I like my Pentax digital camera because it is water proof .

You maybe able to see my creation on my head in this video

Why do we waste tax money on bridges and roads when we can all just drive AATVs

Good idea to use a older cam because the lens could get chips from sand dust etc. I actually can see the screen were it is. I tried to upload the video through the cam but it was too long . I do have a shorter one were the drive belt went on my sled .Not an exiting video because I was more concerned with the machine then the video I was making at the time .
If any one tries this with a good camera I suggest a clear lens cap to protect the lens

View from home made helmet cam ( not a good video my drive belt needed to be replaced )
