Anyone using an aftermarket muffler? Looking to replace a muffler on a 98 Conquest, and don't like the expensive factory prices, or any of their prices for that matter. Hoods for $625, unbelievable. I guess, they don't want to be in the parts business. Aftermarket for everything, if I can find a replacement. Any suggestions?

Nothing cheap about the parts for sure!!! I'd take it to a local muffler shop and see if they can make something else work, they might have something close and with a little innovative thinking and their pipe bender you might make something work for ya. I'm sure other conquest owners here will have a solution for ya as well. Good luck.sigpic

Wow, that's some price for a piece of vacuum formed plastic.
Do you think there's much of a market for replacement hoods ?I was going to make a former and make one for mine with a fan built in, just in case we happen to get another hot summer (fat chance). Thought about using ABS as it's easier to get than hdpe over here.

Flowmaster made a smaller unit with centre input port you can fab up to work, I bought one a few years ago made it fit a Conquest if you have some fab skills to make it work it will save you lots of money and sound cool too'99 Conquest 104hp turbocharged intercooled EFI Chevy Sprint conversion
