  • First Argo Duck hunt with new tires- not as good as i hoped.

So I took my argo response out for it maiden duck hunt out in the Mississippi delta with its new shoes. I had ordered a set of 8 carlise at101 and put them on a week before as my original tires were bald and one actually sliced from a rock. I had it loaded down with so much gear and was impressed with the performance other than i forgot to air the tires down. Talk about a rough ride, but i suppose thats what happens when you let the shop air them to max pressure. We pulled up to the WMA loaded up the gear and headed to down the atv trail to our hunt unit. Not sure how many off you are familiar with the delta mud but it just sticks to itself and doesnt shed. It doubles your tires width in a heart beat. Well we made it there just fine but later that afternoon on the way out the left side of the argo was so clogged it stop the tires spininning and now matter how i worked the sticks she just wanted to spin. Had to get a buddy to drag me to the water to clean it out. The mud actually claimed a couple other atv's that day as well even with their big tires and high horespower. Had to try and dig the mud out of the wheels by hand at first with no success. Would tracks have helped with the buildup? or what mods what have kept me from getting stranded?

on the bright side the we did fairly well on the hunt.

Try Adair tracks. That will give you the biggest bang for the buck of anything you can do on an amphib.

I grew up in Eastern Arkansas and experienced first hand the Delta Muck. Its pretty similar to what I have where I live in East Texas.

Good luck on the hunting, I sure miss my Flyway hunting.
