Front rack over cowling?

Hello all!

Does anyone have photos they'd care to share of front racks over the cowling that they have fabricated/added to their Argo? Any advice about such would also be welcome.

During my recently completed moose hunt it struck me that such a rack would have been handy. A full blown frame/rack would also be nice some day but that's not in the cards right now; I have other more critical projects to fund.

I used a large 4 wheeler rear rack on the front of my Vanguard II and my Bigfoot. The big ones will span the engine compartment. I had a welder weld 4 "L" shaper legs about 4-5" high on the corners. I drilled holes in the feet of the "L"s and mounted 9/16" bolts up through the top of the argo around the hood and bolted them down and used washers as we'll to distribute the weight. You then put the rack on the bolts through the "L"s and then I used a lock washer and wing nut on each leg to hold it down. The wing nuts allow you to take the rack off w/o using tools to access the engine/hood.

I used it for bulky items like decoys or camping gear. I will have to dig through old photos to find pics. Come to think of it I had the same set up on my Max II! even before they came out with their front rack.
