I would agree with thorn and look into vapor lock. Check to see if your fuel line has been replaced and routed close to a heat source. Try to run your conquest without the hood to see if that helps. If you have access to a digital heat thermometer take a reading at different points in the fuel line when you encounter the problem. This may tell you if you are vapor locking or not and if you are where the affected area in the fuel line is. If your fuel reaches above boiling point at any time you will more than likely vapor lock as these are low pressure fuel systems. Hope this helps
