Hi all. Just got my argo dug out of the snow bank. It was buried for about five months, anyway, it fired right up and drove out no problem. I started stripping out the plastic so I can check out the drive train. Overall looks in good shape. Found that the sliders on the driven pulley are all worn out, the belt is starting to split, and no drain plugs. Also the previous owner, or one of them, has drilled extra drain holes through the center of the tub. Not a big deal though, I will just put a carriage bolt with rubber washers in them for now. If any argo users out there could tell me, when did argo switch from single to double row chain? The one machine I picked up has single chain, and the other has double. Also missing a few parts for the one with double chain, some sprockets, tensioners etc. If any one can tell me where to get parts, other than an argo dealer, [their prices reflect their name brand], it would be appreciated. Hope to have every thing fixed up bythe 17th of May, that's when our fishing season opens here. Must get back at it, so thanks to any one who can give me information. Greggv2007

    low cost drain plugs

I found drain plugs to be a good price at Pro Bass

Bass Pro Shops Snap Plugs for Livewell, Baitwell, and Bailer Drains

As far as some other parts believe it or not I found Argo pricing to be pretty good

Slider Blocks, Tensioner springs etc all seem to be reasonable .
Funny thing if you buy all the parts individually for the Chain take up kit, it will cost less then the whole chain take up replacement kit from Argo.

The only thing I find Argo to be out to lunch on are the snow tracks and tires

Am not sure when Argo did the switch over from twin #50-2 to single #60.
mine is a 97 with twin and so is my 85

Princess Auto is good place for parts

They have real good deals when things are on sale but I find there stock to be different every time I go so it is hit and miss getting the stuff you need. They usually have the items found in the weekly flyer. I have found some really good deals on Roller chain but just the single type

For the few parts I have purchased,,,,I have also found that the Argo Dealer was very reasonable also. An output shaft for the trans,,,though I did order the wrong one,,was $48 bucks,,,the right one was $64 bucks, not to bad of a price,,I thought,,,heres a pic of it,,about 6" long.,,,,,Mark
