Parts for old (1983) Argo

Where's the best place to source parts for an old 1983 8x8 Argo. I'll be checking things like brake pads, idler chains, chain tensioners etc.

Canada preferred but anyplace will do!

As for brakes my manual says that I need part# 170-01. I see part #170-03 for sale on ebay and elsewhere. Will those work?

where aboots ya in Canada eh!! I am running a 84 8x8 and I am finding that my local argo dealer has the best price for parts and most are still available too. I have a parts/service manual but you can also find the manuals online at argoparts.com they also have most parts but have to remember that moist argo parts have some weight to them so shipping sucks. as far as bearings I go down to my local industrial bearing shop in town here with the old bearings and the matchup what ever I bring in.

as far as the ebay items most times they seem like a good deal but they will always rape us Canadians on shipping and sometimes customs fees, I was rebuilding a couple old Honda trikes last year and some parts the size of my fist the wanted over $40 to ship double what the part was worth, so really watch shipping on those items and most times it is best to go with the same part numbers as you need then there is uncertainty or modifications required on new parts.

I'm near Regina Sask.

I'm also thinking of adding a soft top and snow blade. Anyone have any ideas on what kind of soft top would be best? Can I use one from a UTV? Will an Argo one work with an older machine?

a fellow on here (number1cas) I believe had one done up here in north Manitoba at a local upholstery place and he paid half what the one from argo cost and included all hard where. contact local shops they might be able to help out especially if they do covers/ tops for boats. I found a website Boat Covers & Bimini Tops - Bimini Tops At Sportsman's Guide you can get all the hard ware poles / connectors and supports for decent price. as far as snow blade not to sure but I am interested as well would make clearing the driveway fun!

Even the dealers here in NFLD are getting frustated because they are unable to get the parts for there customers. There isn't any problem getting parts from argoadventure.com in the US. Why is Canada so far behind? Even newer parts and i mean argo parts seem to be a task getting them. Why should we have to go over the border and pay twice as much?

agreed bad enough they cost an arm and a leg the least they can do is have them in stock.
