Decided to scour ebay uk, quite a few of this sort of thing about 181364893341 . The IBC's don't fetch much on there either. I've enquired about a couple of water tanks (2500+) that are only 50 miles or less from me (us English don't like the mileage our American cousins do)
There's one tanks on there but it's minimum dimension is 10' + (dia), that's possibly a police escort job (10'6") to fetch it back unless I cut it up on site.
I'm in no rush, I can wait until one close to home turns up at the right money.

Rod did you get your hands on a tank? I still cant work out which way to go, an ibc will take a bit more straightening out. What type of heat gun are you using? I have a paint stripper type gun available would that be man enough for the job?Comment

Hi Carl, we use the Leister gun we use at work to weld sheet pvc etc (we do truck curtains, tarps, hoods etc) or an old electric fire if straightening a large area.
Haven't done anything yet as nothing's turned up close to home. I'm ideally looking for an old water tank with thick walls, the cheap ones tend to be miles away and the ones close to home are fetching silly money. I can wait though.
I don't know if IBC will be thick enough, I'd like about 1/4" but I think IBC's are about 1/8".
Also been tied up a little as we've bought another Argo, that's three now, this addiction is getting out of hand
