  • hydraulic brake adjustment

So I went out for a short ride yesterday to try to get the fresh gas into the system and ended up with a different problem. The brakes were working good until it got all warmed up and then the left side seems to have tightened up. Madr it difficult to turn right because the left side was braking too. Is this a simple adjustment? How do you adjust them? The machine only has 110 hrs so I wouldn't think it would be bad calipers yet?

Does the new machine have sticks or a t-bar? If it's a t-bar I'd suspect the stops have been bent holding the brake partially on, common problem with the Avengers and makes it impossible to bleed them.

If that is the problem bend them back straight, they are square tabs in the t-bar frame with holes for the plungers to come through, then adjustments to plungers can be made if needed.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
    Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.

If you have too much brake fluid in your master cylinder, it will expand when it gets hot, and not have enough room, this could cause the brake to drag.

I will check the fluid levels first. How far back should the sticks pull back to engage the brakes ? I noticed when I first looked at it that they didn't seem to have much travel. Maybe 2-3 inches of total movement. Does that seem right?

Make sure the plungers are adjusted correctly they should be flush with the casting
