  • Fifth wheel attachment

Hello! I am still on my quest to find a good, solid used 8X8 ARGO. I am actively looking on the classified ads on the net for my part of the country. There is a couple of ARGO for sale that mention having a fifth wheel attachment on it. Unfortunatly none of the ads have pictures good enough to see that contraption.

I was wondering what would be the use and advantange of having such an attachment?

    Thank you,

Is the Fifth wheel attachment on the Argo?

I would think that the fifth wheel is the trailer to transport the Argo behind your truck but if it was on the Argo it’s self it would take up the seating room in the back.

If it comes with a fifth wheel trailer you would need the right receiver to tow it with.

Maybe it is just a language issue and they are using fifth wheel attachment to mean the trailer hitch. Your best bet would be to call and get specifics and pictures if possible.

It is not uncommon for people to use terminology that means two different things in two different areas. Where I am people call all amphibious atvs 'Argo' in Arkansas I hear "Hustler" used for all of them.

The Argo has what we call a receiver where I am from, we don't call it a trailer hitch.

Jon Hoath mentioned a few years ago that farmers and ranchers were putting fifth wheel mounts in the back of Avengers for moving their trailers and equipment.
