argo tracks with which tires?

Hello, I have a argo 6x6 and I was interested in buying tracks but i have a question regarding tires used. I just purchased some agressive mud tires and was wondering if they would work with the tracks. They are gbc gators and are 22x11x8. I would mostly be using it for snow...

I dont have a ton of experience as a pretty new argo owner, but I have done my research as much as possible before I just purchased my set of tracks and I dont think your tires will work. You need to have a 22x10-8 tire to run the tracks and the runamuks or a copy are about the only option. With the 11" wide tires you will either damage your sidewalls or break track guides. I am sure someone will correct me if I am off base though!

If you are running the plastic tracks, you could make adjustments using half links to get it to fit. The issue will be if you have enough room between the tops of your new tires + track from the underside of the body. Since you are going with 22" then they should be fine.
If you source a rubber track, then the amount of slack becomes a bigger issue as it won't easily let a tire spin to reduce chain windup. But you are sticking to the 22" diameter so it still should be okay.

You could buy the track you want to use and see what happens. If it doesn't work then buy tires that are supposed to be on it. Seems like the Tru Track guy said his would work with other tires besides the runamuk. Not that that track is what I'd buy. The argo track and runamuk is made to work and tested. The tire sidewall has to steer the track by pushing sideways against the track guides. If you're just playing close to home a guy could take a chance on his setup. If I was going remote like Cory in Alaska, I'd go factory tire and wheel for reliability, unless a proven alternative was known. When I went out, I had a spare wheel and tire, extra track links and parts, and snowshoes.

Another option, on the high price end as well, Escargo tracks. Good in most situations & provide good water speed.

If you get the Rubber super tracks

You have to assembled them so you can space the guides to fit you tire .

If you tires are slightly too big take some air out ,If the belt is too loose pump the tires up ( do not pass 5lbs)

The escargo tracks are nice but weigh allot
