Hello everyone, my name is Howard and I have been using Argos for hunting deer and waterfowl in the marshes of Eastern Shore Maryland since the 70's. I need slow, agile and reliable transportation to get in and out of some bad places. Tracks are an absolute necessity.
I recently acguired a 6 wheel magnum and replaced the axles, bearings, sprockets, seals, and chain. It runs well, no issues with brakes, engine and transmission except it runs too fast. It has a HA transmission. I think I may need a GA transmission to slow it down. Parts manual lists two gear differences between the two transmissions,
part# 34-44 Helical gear (21 teeth) for GA, and
part# 34-40 Helical gear (26 teeth) for HA; also
part# 34-45 Gear plate, helical (76 teeth) for GA and
part# 34-43 Gear plate, helical (71 teeth) for HA.
Would anyone know
(1) if there any other part differences between the two transmissions
(2) what is low gear ratio difference between GA and HA, will it be a creeper
(3) Are there any other options like buying a GA or comparable transmission that will slow the thing down. Would anyone have one for sale?
any help would be much appreciated.
