  • Argo Vanguard II registration and use in NY - advice needed

    Hi,

I'm new here and am the proud owner of a secondhand Argo Vanguard II 6 wheel, vintage '96 or '97. This seems like a great and helpful forum!
A couple of questions....I went to the NY DMV the other day and it was a no go for registration due to short serial number (4 digits if you don't count the 'SN'). Is there a real VIN on this model? If so, where to look?

Secondly, assuming there isn't, are there any sure fire tricks to successful registering in NYS? DMV said it could not be registered without 17-digit VIN, no way around this so not sure what to do if no VIN!

Lastly, as I'm also new to the ATV world in its entirety, are Argos with tracks welcome on public or private ATV trails in NY? I ran across quite a few sites targeting ATVs, not sure what the climate is towards AATVs.

    Thanks for any advice!

You could try filling in the void with zero's , start with the model number add needed zero's between that and serial number such a v6915500000sn8181. Use all the letters and numbers on your plate in the order they appear with zero's between the 2 lines.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
    Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.
