  • Argo Track Removal

I'm now ready to take my tracks off until next winter. I've also been in the habit of removing the axle extensions. I was wondering if there's anyone out there who keeps the extensions on? It would certainly make it easier to put the tracks on next winter ... or, whenever I'd need to, really. Any disadvantages to keeping them on, do you think? Can't remember reading anything about in the manual. Guess, if I kept them on, I'd still have to switch the two middle tires from one side to the other.

You can disregard that question. I just read the manual again and it states:
"Axel extensions are recommended for use only with Argo Super tracks and Rubber tracks and should be removed for tire-only use." Bummer! :-(

Meh, Leave 'em on if you want.
I've left mine on plenty of times, couple things:
The long grass will wind around your axles easier, (Not Good), Should be removed more often, so it doesn't eat into your Seals.
The machine will be easier to keep out of the ruts on the trail, as it will be slightly wider than other machines.
Makes it easier to grease Outer Axle Bearings.
You might rub/bump trees a little more often.
May be more stable in water, but I've never noticed much difference
Might be a little harder on Axles and Outer Axle Bearings.
