A bit of bling

Making a new seat backrest today and decided to go with a bit of razamataz. I was going to do the cover all in black at first but then decided to brighten it up with a bit of colour coding

Frame was made from 1" tube and attached to side rails with hydraulic pipe clamps. I wanted some way of adjusting the backrest to get a comfortable position and these clamps work well.
I also left some frame exposed both ends, makes a nice grab handle to get in and out.

I may make a new soft half cab in orange ? What you reckon, too much ???

I was surprised at just how well they hold, the seat frame is really quite rigid now. I did wonder if they would slip round the tubes but it appears they'll be fine. Quite cheap too so that's an added bonus


What you reckon folks, bright orange half cab soft top next ? With roof windows to let a bit of light in ?

I spend a little time on it now and then, it relieves the hassle of work As I said earlier, don't know whether to go with orange or black for a soft top truck cab, decisions, decisions

We're doing some work on an Amphicat for someone and it's being a right pain, frame's out yet again At some time in it's life someone has "fixed" a rotten (and I mean rotten) frame by cladding it in sheet metal. Unfortunately they took the easy route and just slapped it on and hit it with a welder, didn't jig it or clamp it down. I don't think there was one bearing / axle mount that lined up with another. Both longitudinals were twisted and then twisted in relation to each other. We've straightened it as much as possible but where it had voids / cut outs they've just gone straight over with sheet. Now the engine cannot be lined up with transmission so belt runs to one side Had to put it all back together to check tub clearances, now it's apart again

Got to cut some of the "repaired" frame away and re-edge the sheet to move engine over a touch.

Enjoying the job immensely but it's grief, nice when you solve the problem though
