Hi, I have to go take a look at a big foot 2001 for my brother. What are the main things to check. What are the cons and the pros.

I have the exact machine and love it. As per most Argos, check the bearings and chains and how it runs. Although I use gas with conditioner I seem to have to clean the carb every couple of years. I also carry and extra fuel pump as it seems to go every couple of years. I have had no other issues. -

My friend has a Bigfoot , a year older , 2000, , low gear transmission , 18 hp B&S, he uses almost everyday if not hauling firewood , doing contract work for both national grid and EPA , and general riding ... with care he has just replaced the bearings and axles for the first time last year after several thousand hours. They are a great machine if taken care of I believe there is a check list on site here as to what to look for when buying a used machine. I have a 2006/7 Frontier with the high speed transmission ,,, I like it , but if I had the chance I would have gotten a Bigfoot , it is a much heavier machine and I am not into the speed that the high gear transmission has ..Comment
