  • Rear Rack Support ?????

Going to add a rack for the back of the Bigfoot for my ice auger. I want to avoid supporting the rack from the hitch. In my head I want to avoid anything that may impede my ability to back out on top of the ice if I have to.

Will the body support a rack without some type of strut running down to the frame?

    Thoughts?

    The auger weighs 32 lbs.

If it's only going to hold 50lbs or less, I would think it would hold up fine. If your concerned, you can brace it to the hitch. You could make it so you could still use the hitch no problem.

Sol I have been looking into a rack similar to what you are thinking of for my Bigfoot. I think you should just use Rock Docs design. He hauls crazy weight with it and it would fit your needs. Just search racks and bumpers to find his threads. Best luck

          Thanks guys,

I ran some searches didn't find RD's. It seems that most racks are supported up off the hitch which is what I'm trying to avoid. I don't want anything proud of the tracks to the rear. (is that proper speak? proud to the rear?) hehehe

Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.
