Hello guys. Just joined a few days ago. I just bought a 1994 Argo Vanguard last week on a complete impulse. Ive always thought these machines were cool, but you just don't see them around where I live. So when I drove by one for sale locally I had to have it. Seems like its in decent shape. I bought it from the second owner. Has about 800 hours on it. Chains look decent. All the bearings seem tight and the engine runs really good. Body has no marks on it at all. Even the bottom is spotless. Could use a set of tires soon though. It came with a bunch of accessories as well. It has a canvas top with the fold down windshield(Not a mark or tear in anything). Also has a set of the plastic Argo tracks with ice cleats on them. He had a bunch of spare track sections and all the rods that hold them together as well. It has a grill guard, winch and volt meeter on it too. He also threw in a bunch of parts with it. Extra brake pads, belt , tune up parts for the motor and it even has chrome Argo hub caps that have never been on it lol. He even gave me a storage cover for the thing. I think I got a decent deal. Its super clean. $3200 for everything. I don't really have anything to compare it to since they are no very common here. Good deal or not its mine now. LOL
Anyway. My first question is what should I check on the machine before I really start using it? Also. What are a good tire option? I'm not overly concerned about water performance. As long as it will move a little. I have a nice 3.5 horse outboard that will work nicely on it. It will see duty in the mudd, woods and plowing my driveway mostly. Oh yea. It came with that too!!!! And are the plastic tracks able to be used in the mudd?
