  • Looking at a 2010 HDI

If it has the earlier cylinder shaped muffler, unbolt and shake it. Check it is not braking up inside, over here I find this is quite common.
Check the "braking disks" the pads seem to wear quickly and guys run them until they are through to the metal badly scoring the disk.
Check the high/low functions correctly also.

The splined output ports on the trans (where the Jack Shafts slide in) are notorious for failing.

I'm not aware of the details of why it how, but I do know it is an issue fixed in subsequent models. Sorry buddy call Adair or beaver dam Argo and ask for a workaround? Or an update?

Thanks guys, I just may do that. I would hate to wait around for a 2011 or newer, if there is a simple fix

My understanding, and it could very well be wrong, is that it's the splines in the trans that were letting go, not the splines on the Jackshaft.
There were quite a few that I heard of, upwards of 15-17 machines. ALL of the ones that I know if were in machines used in the Gas/Oil industry, run by people that never owned a bolt in them. They were all running on Argo Rubber Tracks.
