Spookum, is there other activity in the area you set up Moose Camp? The trail looks like it's well used, so I'm wondering if there is Fishing back in there, or Mining, or something like that.
Did you see any critters on your way in or out? Is it just Moose Camp, or is there Caribou, ect as well? Are you restricted to 50"+ Moose? Any streams/lakes close by to catch a Char for supper?

Oh, ya. In the moose pic I posted above, thats my brother. I called it "my prize", even though he shot it, for a couple reasons.
                    1) I took him out hunting, and yes, he shot the Moose (his first in 7 yrs)
                    2) I quartered it for him.
                    3) I packed it out for him
                    4) I hung it for him at my place
                    5) I cut and wrapped the meat

After all that, I said "to heck with this", and threw it all in MY freezer.
HA, Take that ya lazy bum :-)

Hi rd ! That trail is an old fire cut. It could have been mined at one time too. It is a new area for me, but it seems like with all the stands and empty camps it must have fallen out of fashion? Or maybe the burn is past it's prime... No good moose sign?

My personal theory is the muskeg in the first 1/2 mile must have turned folks off. That part of the trail is getting worse.

Looks like there were bear bait stations at the end... But not good enough fishing to merit the 15 mile trip.

Oh there were Martin sets onnthe trail... So it is a winter trap line.

No caribou out there.... Unless one is REALLY LOST.... But it would be legal to kill it.

There are no antler restrictions for this area..... "Any bull"
