  • Avenger Front 50-2 chain - new length?

I am replacing my front 50-2 series x 46P chain on my 2005 avenger. I know that Argo dumped the chain tensioners on that model and went with just shorter chain instead. (those chain tensioners never worked great anyway).

Does anyone know the new length of chain they are using?

RC50-46 p was what the dealer gave me for replacements and i have no tensioners so Iam not sure they ever altered the length.

I found out today that they still use the 46 pitch length. Some Avengers came with chain tensoiners on that front chain, but they recommended removing the tensioner when using tracks as it would rachet up and overtighten both the front and second chain. You can still use the tensioner when running without tracks, but it doesn't do much and "clacks" up and down all the time when you turn. That is really what I wanted to try to address. It drove me nuts. I took the tensioner off and put a new set of chains on and it is much better.

      All good now!

I took mine in for a recent service and they missed taking off the front chain tensioners (07 Avenger). When I phoned to ask if there was any change in chain length or if I needed to do anything different, they said nope, just remove them, and apologized for leaving them in...

That is basically what I was told. I am much happier not listening to the constant click of those tensioners when you start a turn!
