Here are some pics of things that i improved upon for my 2007 Avenger efi.. these are all simple and inexpensive fixes. must have forgot some but this is a start..hope these help someone.

Is that the Garmin MAP60 CSx on your handlebars? Is it any good?

IMO the garmin 60csx is the best gps available today.

Plywood Fooring

I under stand and like all the improvements but don't quiet get the 1/4 plywood. Is this to stiffen the skid plate? I have the 2006 Avenger model. I have 3/4 inch plywood with a padding setting on top of the factory rear and front flooring with carpet on top of it. This helps with cleanup after a ride and trash doesn't get into the bottom of the machine as easily. The main reason for this is, i am 5' 10" and when entering the vehicle in the front my foot would slip into the front flooring well,..... and well you pretty much know the rest. The rear plywood is basically the same reason, to improve footing and cleanup. Love the ideas. I am going to install a bilge pump light now. Keep the ideas coming. Thanks

I know, for me, the bilge pump makes so much noise I don't really need a light.............hahahaha

Bilge pump

You got some really nice improvement on your Argo. They didn't fall into wrong eyes!! The floor plywood and the horn were on my ''to do '' list.I m in the process of putting a 2 speeds brake fan to reduce heat( mine never had one with a TEC16hp 1Cyl) . I put a small ajustable fish eyes mirror on my winshield, really handy when riding with friend... you can see if they can follow...

I will put my 2 cents on the bilge pump.. Light is a must... But location of the pump is almost as important. Yesterday was the first time, since i bough it 3 years ago, that i use my bilge pump. I saw that when in the water, my pump let a lot of water go in without working because she was not further in front of the machine where the weight is... When i have the time i will put her as far front as i can and on right side. Why on the right side.. I will tilt the argo, in the water, on one side to empty the most water... So next time i will have less water when i go boating!!!!

Bilge pump location

I purchased mine from the factory and it came with location instructions and an extra bracket. Mine is a 2006 Avenger and the extra bracket is for other models. If interested i can scan and post the factory location. Has a very good exploded view drawing. I think i still have the extra bracket.

My BigFoot has the Bilge pump,,,and was also on a bracket under the engine,,only problem ,,,with it on the Bracket,,,it was atleast 1/2 to 3/4" off the floor ,,,the Idler chains would be in the water,,spinning up water getting on the drive belt,,slipping it,,,,before the Bilge pump could suck it out !

When BigFoot was all apart,,I removed the bracket drilled out the rivets holding the Bilge pump to it,,,and used a 6x6 members idea,,,taking hose clamps,,one around the Bilge pump, and a large 1 or 2 around the front 4" round frame tube under the engine,,,this was as low as I could get the Bilge,and it works OK !

IMO the garmin 60csx is the best gps available today.

I've been hunting for the right GPS for awhile; lots of research, looking like its come down to the 60csx or the 76csx...

IMO its a joke that the best handheld units on the market today are SEVERAL YEARS old at this point...

it still seems most GPS's have issues in even moderate tree cover.........
I understand RF and how things interfere, but, it would seem with all this technology, it'd be workable......

I am on my 4th GPS, and use the garmin 60csx. It has incredible antenna coverage. I can sit in my house and get a lock. I was out with it inside my jacket and it still kept track. Certainly the best I have seen so far. My Garmin Map I had sucked for antenna coverage.

Tried the new state of the art Megellan Triton 2000 and it was terrible...went right back to Cabelas...3 hour battery life ..all kinds of bugs..Its a real pig when it comes to reception..i did mega research and bought the Garmin 60csx.. could not be happier...Garmin also makes a sweet handlebar mount..easy to use, rugged, waterproof and has super great reception...I rate the 60csx a big 10.
