  • Conquest repair

    image.jpgimage.jpg

Recently bought an old looking conquest 2004
Never looked at one before but thought what the heck!

Customized the rops to include a wrap around angle iron bumper ( steel bumper around the whole tub)
    Rebuilt/cleaned clutches
Polished plastic back to a decent colour
    Have some lights to mount
    Seat to recover
All new bearings, chains, adjusters and blocks
Wheel extensions, waiting for the Chanel tracks to arrive!!!
It was a lot of fun to have something different to repair besides the sleds and atvs

    Couple questions

    1. Is there a cab kit that works with rops?
    2. Need some ideas on where to mount a spare tire and a tool box ( I've been told I may need to carry some tools ect lol )
    3. Looking for the original rear seats ?

Wow Crr, You have transformed that Conquest. Nice work. Argo sold a soft top canopy that fit inside the rops. I like the large rear cargo carrier that rock doctor has in his photo album if you want to carry tools and a tire and gas. please keep the pics. coming. If you find someone with a seat ,they might have a canopy.

Nice work! My favorite Argo model and track system. I want to see some pics of that bad boy with the Chanels and top when you get them.

If you want the dimensions of the rear seat pan(s) - let me know.

have just cut two new ones - traced from the originals.

Installed the Chanel tracks today, looked like they would be easy but not so much with the rawhides! had a hard time stretching them enough to bolt together (tires do not give that much) but once I figured out how to cheat a bit they went on nicely.

problem I have is how much air to run in the tires, marcel said about 4psi which I think would be good but I have 3 different gauges and they all read different!
went with the digital guage at 4psi and the tracks slapped the tub at higher speeds, so I used my other guage and it showed 3psi so I set them at 4.5psi with that guage and it seems fine.

What are your experiences with pressures ect and what will I hurt by running too much air

From front to rear I run 5,6,6,7 psi. How much sag did you have between the centers with the machine off the ground? If your getting slap like that I would like they are way too loose or you are getting some body sag from the rops. My center tire are about an inch bigger OD than my corner tires and I don't get any slap.

                Your machine looks awesome!
