  • Best Way to Lube the Outside Bearings?

    Hey Team:

Have a 2002 Conquest and it's time to lube the outside bearings......I have tracks which I know will make it so much more fun!

I see the manual says no 2 grease but would my Quicksilver marine 2-4-C work just as well if not better?

I have not purchased another grease gun yet as I don't know if I'll need a long extension hose on it or not. For sure it will need the right angle grease coupler!

    Cheers,

    LT

    Looking for direction here.

I think any high quality marine grade grease is just fine, #2 is just the base recommendation.

I have a full set of air tools with grease guns, extensions inc. flex extensions. These days the technology has advanced, and the cordless grease guns are something I want for the future. It doesn't matter how the grease is applied as long as it get there.

If you don't have HD axles and HD outer bearings + grease hole drilled in your rims, I'd just block the machine up and remove the wheels. Hit all the zerks and lube the chains (while running the machine) at the same time. Kind of a pain, but trying to get to the outer bearings on the corners with bearing extensions is a real pain tucked right behind the rims. A small impact will have all your wheels off real fast.

I used a standard grease gun, and it took me less than an hour. Kept the tracks and tires on. I had an 18 inch hose on the gun. 24 inches would be ideal. Thanks for the input.,

The hose is the key, without wheel extensions the front and rear are near impossible.

My new beer holder spilled some on the trails - in it's hair and down it's throat.
            Joe Camel never does that.

Advice is free, it's the application that costs.
