Changing brake pads

I have a 2001 Bigfoot. Is it possible to change the brake pads without taking the calipers off the mount. Will the old ones slip out once the cotter pins have been removed and the new ones slip back in?

Yes they are easy. Push one piston back at a time with the old pad then pull it out and install the new one.
